DC-AMT is home to national and international tenants ranging from Vector Composites Inc, a division of DRT Technologies Inc, to Australian advanced materials group Quickstep Holdings Limited. Our multi-tiered strategy equips us to tailor solutions for customers who want to tap the unique benefits of composites for a broad variety of industries - including aerospace, automotive, marine and infrastructure. As a result, DC-AMT has the capability and infrastructure to:
Develop advanced materials and manufacturing processes for quick commercialization from concept to factory ready products.
Nurture lean manufacturing and emerging technologies and products.
Incubate new high-tech start-up companies.
Support stand-alone high-tech tenants seeking a business friendly environment specifically designed to accelerate company growth.
In addition to these critical support capabilities, DC-AMT is Quickstep's Center of Excellence for North America. The Quickstep process - a unique fluid-filled, balanced pressure, heated, floating mold technology for the curing, partial curing and joining of composite materials - uses thermoset and certain thermoplastic prepregs as well as wet resin/dry fiber to produce superior composite parts.
Other key on-site technologies include nano-enhanced sheet molding compound (SMC) scale-up for production of composite parts that retain the strength of conventional materials yet are significantly lighter and thinner.
As a branch campus of the National Composite Center (NCC), DC-AMT can link customers to other next generation technologies like Rapid Fiber Preforming, closed molding, Design Optimization and Long Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastics (LFT) conveniently housed nearby at NCC’s headquarters facility in Kettering, OH.
